Colorless cubic crystal, white or grayish white, with granular or honeycomb shapes [block shaped, spherical, irregular granular, powder shaped]. Non toxic, odorless, slightly bitter in taste. Relative density 2.15 (25 ºC). Melting point 782 ºC. Boiling point above 1600 ºC]. Highly hygroscopic, easily deliquescent when exposed to air. Easy to dissolve in water and release a large amount of heat, its aqueous solution is slightly alkaline.
